An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Tax Manager to join this leading global banking group. Based in the group's London office, you will find the work challenging, stimulating and varied. The key responsibility of this role is to manage the UK Tax position of the group through the following: * Advising and assisting the businesses and support functions regarding their products, structures and organisational set-up; * Ensuring that excessive tax risks do not arise and group's reputation with HM Revenus & Customs is not damaged; * Ensuring compliance with all UK filing obligations across all direct and indirect taxes. * Preparation / review of UK tax returns (both direct and indirect tax) and dealing with queries thereon from UK tax authorities; * Monthly financial reporting of UK group entities' tax figures under IFRS including balance sheet reconciliation work; * Liaison with advisors (both internal and external) to ensure accurate reflection of transactions within tax reporting; * Liaison with overseas colleagues on cross border issues and monthly financial reporting; and * Oversight of all VAT issues relating to calculation and filing and payment of these amounts. Creative and proactive, you will ideally be ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified (or equivalent) and have intellectual flexibility and capacity to deal with various issues and foreign taxation systems. UK Corporation Tax background essential with experience of equities related tax issues and manufactured overseas dividends rules desireable.
