Voted one of the best software vendor in the 2010 Commodity Business Awards, my clients success is largely attributable to its ability to address the complex requirements of its clients, who are from the full range of the trading spectrum, including investment banks, oil majors and utilities. My client is looking to hire a Front Office Solutions Consultants to join their growing team in the UK. The role involves consulting on business issues associated with trade entry, pricing, and logistics in the commodities/energy trading industry. Brief Description: The role being recruited for is as a business analyst within the Front office consulting team of the Energy division. After initially obtaining an appropriate general knowledge level of the application, and demonstrating this knowledge in a business analyst capacity within client projects, the successful candidate will be required to develop a deep level of subject matter expertise around the Front office and risk related areas of the application. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Analyse and document client business processes and functional requirements * Translate user requirements and functional gaps into detailed software functional specifications * Implement and supporting software at the client site. This will involve extended periods at client locations throughout Europe. * Communicate client business requirements and issues clearly to technical teams that may not fully understand our client's business * Liaise with technical teams in London and NY to drive resolution of support and usability issues * Organise and participate in the training of new and existing clients in the use of my clients product * Consult with clients to demonstrate how the system functionality can satisfy their business requirements Offer advice to clients on how business processes can be improved using the solution BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE: * Minimum two year's experience within the electricity trading sector with exposure to operations / nominations * Knowledge of the UK and one or more European electricity markets * Good understanding of the energy derivatives and commodity markets * Consulting or analyst experience including functional specification writing If you are looking to join a company who consistently outperform the competition and you thrive working in challenging environments this is the role for you.
