The Company
They are a fast expanding investment company focussing on investing within the insurance and related industries and have ambitious expansion plans within UK, Europe and Africa. They are looking for a "hands on" accountant with a strong accounting background. Due to recent expansion and the launch of one its subsidiary insurance companies, the group have an excellent opening for a strong candidate to join the team and have sole financial responsibility for the new entity.

The Role
Reporting to the Group Finance Director and also the Finance Director of the subsidiary but based in the London Group office, you would be the only other member of the finance team at this stage and therefore the role is very hands on. You will work within a small organisation and close team whilst benefiting from the opportunities associated with being part of a large company: The role includes:

* Setting up and managing systems to report the new entity's results internally and externally on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
* Forecasting business performance
* Generating key decision making reports for Board members
* Close interaction at Executive/Board level
* Preparation of statutory and regulatory returns
* Creation, implementation and monitoring of internal controls
* Liaison with FSA Regulator and consultants
* Working in a multi-currency environment
* Supporting the overall management of financial information in the business unit
* Opportunities for International travel


* IPT UK &r Foreign reconciliation and returns
* Monitoring product pricing


* Cash Management and transaction accounting.


Who they are looking for
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria

* You must be a Qualified accountant and
* You must have previous insurance industry experience and
* You must be computer literate with good Excel skills and general ledger experience


Other

* Excellent analytical skills and an understanding of capital, Solvency II
* Proactive approach and continuous improvement ethic to accounting processes


* Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work within a small team as part of a wider organisation
* Self motivated, initiative to achieve and prioritise
